Safety First: Preparing a Porsche 991.2 GT3 RS for the Track with the BBi Autosport StreetCup Roll Bar Safety Package

The Porsche 991.2 GT3 RS is a true track machine, built to dominate any circuit it sets foot on. And when it comes to preparing this car for the track, safety is a top priority. That's why we worked with our client Zach to install the BBi Autosport StreetCup Roll Bar Safety Package in his GT3 RS.

The BBi Autosport StreetCup Roll Bar Safety Package includes a high-quality roll bar, Schroth Racing 6 point Harnesses, BBi Autosport Sub-Belt Bracket for the driver side, and Schroth Racing 4 point harnesses for the passenger side. The roll bar is designed to provide maximum protection in the event of a roll-over, while the harnesses and sub-belt bracket keep the driver and passenger securely strapped in during high-speed maneuvers.

The Schroth Racing 6 point Harnesses are a particularly important safety feature. They provide a superior level of restraint compared to the factory seatbelts, which can often allow the driver or passenger to slide around during aggressive driving. The 6 point harnesses keep the driver and passenger securely in place, even during extreme cornering and braking. The BBi Autosport Sub-Belt Bracket is also an important component, designed to provide a secure mounting location for the anti-sub belt, also known as the crotch belt. The bracket bolts to the bottom of the factory carbon seat and provides a secure attachment point for the anti-sub belt, which helps prevent the driver from sliding under the lap belt during a crash or sudden stop. This is an essential component of a proper racing harness setup, and helps ensure the driver is properly restrained and protected in the event of an accident

In addition to the safety upgrades, we also replaced the spark plugs and did a brake fluid flush on Zach's GT3 RS. The spark plugs are a critical component of the engine, and replacing them helps ensure the car is running at peak performance. The brake fluid flush is also an important maintenance item, as it helps maintain the performance of the brakes over time.
