Preparing a Porsche 991.2 GT3 RS for the Track with BBi Autosport Roll Bar and Racetech Harnesses
We recently worked on our client's White Porsche 991.2 GT3 RS at Murtha Motorsports to prepare it for the track. One of the key modifications we made was the installation of a BBi Autosport StreetCup Roll Bar, which is widely considered the best-looking roll bar on the market that looks like something the factory would have offered. In addition to its attractive appearance, the BBi Autosport Roll Bar is also known for its excellent fit and ease of installation.
The roll bar is an essential safety feature for any car that will be driven on the track, as it helps to provide additional protection in the event of a rollover or other collision. In this installation, we powder-coated the roll bar in silver to match the car's exterior. We also added optional reinforcement gussets for added strength and a factory-style look. In addition to providing added protection during a rollover, the roll bar can also serve as a mounting location for shoulder belts in a harness system. This allows the harnesses to be securely anchored to the car's chassis, which helps keep the driver and passengers safe during high-speed driving or in the event of a collision.
We also installed silver Racetech 6-point harnesses in the car, which were mounted to the roll bar using the BBi Autosport Sub-Belt brackets. These harnesses provide added security for the driver and passengers, with a 6-point design that helps to distribute the forces of a collision or sudden stop across a larger body area. The harnesses also have a high-strength construction and are designed to be easy to adjust and use.
