1. Can I bring a car under warranty to Murtha Motorsports for maintenance services?

You can bring your vehicle to us for maintenance services without voiding the warranty. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, independent shops like ours can perform routine maintenance while preserving the warranty. We meticulously document all parts and fluids used to ensure warranty compliance. However, for repair and diagnosis covered under warranty, we recommend visiting the dealership, where such services are typically provided free of charge.

2. Are your technicians factory trained?

Our owner and technicians have factory training from previous positions at local Porsche dealerships and bring additional expertise from our performance and motorsport experience. This diverse background gives us a comprehensive understanding of vehicles beyond dealership standards.

3. Why take the car to Murtha Motorsports instead of the dealership?

At Murtha Motorsports, we offer the same level of service and expertise as the dealership but with cost savings of up to 20% on parts and labor. We use OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and OES (Original Equipment Supplier) parts, including top brands like Bosch, which are equivalent to those sold at dealerships but more cost-effective.

4. What savings do you offer at Murtha Motorsports?

Our customers can enjoy significant savings compared to dealership prices without compromising quality. We provide up to 20% savings on parts and labor, making us a preferred choice for vehicle maintenance and repairs.

5. What are OEM and OES parts, and how can they save money?

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts are produced by the vehicle manufacturer or approved suppliers and sold through the dealership. On the other hand, OES (Original Equipment Supplier) parts are manufactured by companies supplying parts directly to the manufacturer. While OES parts are identical to dealership OEM parts, they lack the auto manufacturer's branding. Both OEM and OES parts meet or exceed factory specifications, ensuring quality and reliability. Opting for OES parts instead of genuine parts can save customers money without compromising on performance or reliability.

6. Will installing performance upgrades void my warranty?

Installing performance upgrades typically only void the warranty if the manufacturer can prove that the modifications caused the issue. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, manufacturers cannot void a warranty solely due to aftermarket modifications. For example, modifying the suspension of your vehicle would not void an engine-related warranty claim, but it could lead to a denial of warranty coverage for issues related to suspension noise.

7. How do you ensure warranty compliance?

We meticulously document all parts and fluids used during service to ensure warranty compliance. Adhering to manufacturer specifications and using OEM and OES parts guarantees that your vehicle remains compliant with warranty requirements.

8. What warranty do you offer?

We provide an industry-standard warranty of 12 months or 12,000 miles for both parts and labor. Certain exclusions apply to performance, motorsport parts, and track use. However, we assess warranty claims on a case-by-case basis to ensure customer satisfaction.

9. Can I bring my own parts?

While we understand the desire to provide your own parts, we recommend against it to ensure compatibility and quality. At Murtha Motorsports, we exclusively use OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and OES (Original Equipment Supplier) parts, including top brands like Bosch, which are equivalent to dealership parts. This guarantees optimal performance and reliability for your vehicle. When it comes to performance parts, we collaborate with established companies and have built strong relationships to ensure quality and support. Therefore, we do not offer any warranty with customer-supplied parts unless the issue is due to our installation error. Additionally, any issues with customer-supplied parts may incur additional charges.
